Patrick Hicks Mens Center

We provide assistance, mentoring, and spiritual guidance to men from all walks of life. Men are able to stay at the center while they find employment, learn life skills and transition out of the center to be back on their own.

About Us
At Sweetwater Baptist,  we believe that God is love. As a result, we want to live out the great commandment by loving God with everything we are and loving our neighbor in every way possible. We desire to see a man become the man that God wants him to be, whether they are homeless or not. We consider it a great honor to serve God by helping lead the men we serve to Christ. We hope and pray that any guy who comes to the center will be in better shape physically, financially, emotionally, and spiritually, and ready to become the man that God wants him to be.
How we Function
The center functions as a normal shelter. We currently have five beds and a door manager who stays on-site. Everyone who comes to us is different, so we interview each guy to determine the best path forward. We run a structured program with curfew times. We require our guests to keep their areas tidy, and themselves clean as well as be respectful to other people. We require them to attend all church functions. We assist with job placement, mental health, counseling, addiction, finances, and spiritual guidance.
Donations

We are an organization that runs entirely on donations. We are always accepting donations of toiletries or clothing, but we also need help with financial donations!

What We Provide

Basic Needs

We provide our guys with basic necessities such as food, clothing, and shelter.

Shelter

While in the shelter our guys have access to a small kitchen, washer, dryer, and storage. We have five beds monitored by an on-site dorm manager.

Personal Help

We assist guys with getting things like IDs and jobs. We also assist our guys with opportunities to reunite with their family members.

How much does it cost to stay?

We don't charge anything to stay! We run solely on donations that we receive from the community. Whether those donations are in the form or money, food, or everyday needs! 

How can I donate?

We can take donations through most all major money transfer apps as well as by card! You can check the donations tab for more info!

How do you get into the center?

Our guys stay at our center on a day to day basis. The best way to get in is to keep coming back to ask about open beds, or contact us via email or phone through our contact page! 

What kind of non financial donations do you take?

We always take donations of things like food, soaps, and new clothing items such as socks and underwear.
Who is Patrick Hicks?

Patrick Hicks was one of the first residents of the center when it opened. Like many other former residents, he found a personal relationship with Jesus and returned to normal life. Not long after getting back on his feet, Patrick was diagnosed with cancer. He believed so strongly in the mission of the Center that when he passed, he left everything he owned to the center to be a blessing to as many others as possible. To honor, not only his gift, but the drastic change he made, we are proud to have named our center the Patrick Hicks Mens Center.
